This is a fabulous campground. I was a bit nervous when booking in campground B as I had read it did not have a lot of shaded sites. I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the sites had plenty of trees and shade areas when I arrived. The sites themselves are large w/plenty of room for a camper (ours is 32 ft.) and your tow vehicle (we drive an Excursion). The bathroom/laundry facilities were new and very clean. They do a wonderful job maintaining them as well. The park has an Olympic sized pool w/diving boards and a slide that is free to campers. The Chippokes Plantation Home is located w/in the park as well and is open for tours and is worth going through. It was built in 1854 and gives a good idea of plantation life from that era. The park also offers many activities during the week. My kids (4 boys aged 5, 7, 11 & 13) went fishing w/the Ranger ($6/family). The Ranger provided the poles and bait. We took a candlelight walk through the River Run buildings with the park historian and learned all about plantation life. One of the Rangers even went along w/just my boys to hunt for sharks teeth and fossils along the James River. We stayed at this park while visiting Williamsburg and Jamestown. You need to plan about 40 minutes to get to Williamsburg. You will need to take the free auto ferry back and forth across the James River. The ferry ride takes 15 minutes and Williamsburg is about 15 minutes from there. It was very convenient and fun. Jamestown is just on the other side of the River. I would definitely go and stay at this park again.

Beautiful campground. The sites away from the Lake are very large and have beautiful, large trees through out the campground. The sites right on the lake are a bit small and close together. The campground has level sites, garbage containers, a grill and fire rings at each site. There is also a swimming area and a sprinkler play area for the kids. ((not open when we were there). We stayed here during Easter break in March with 8 kids (2 families). We would definitely stay here again.

This is an extremely well maintained campground, but you pay for it. It is on the expensive side in my opinion. The sites were meticulously groomed and are private and large. There is a children's playground area that is located just outside the office. They offer a fish cleaning area as well as a lounge area with books, games and a fireplace to relax in and a free cup of coffee in the morning. The bathrooms/showers are clean, but the shower stalls are very small. We would stay again.

We camped here during Easter break and stayed 8 nights. The staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived late and they escorted us to our site. Overall, this is a beautiful campground nestled in the Smoky Mountains. It's conveniently located about 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountain Pass. The sites are picturesque but on the small side. There are a few sites that give you some space. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. They have a children's play area but it is small and located outside of the main camping area. On most sites you would not be able to see your kids playing and the road runs on both sides. We were there when the campground was almost empty, but I would have felt uneasy had the campground been full to let the kids go off and play by themselves. We would camp here again.

This is a wonderful campground. The campground is also a working hobby farm with many animals. We camped here during Easter break with another family and between us we had 8 boys. The kids loved it. It had a great playground area for the kids, flat roads for bike riding, free mini golf, the fun of the animals and beautiful gardens. They even did a pot luck for Easter dinner. We were here early in the season so most of the week we were there, the cg was almost empty. The sites are typical of an RV park. The showers/bathrooms were clean. It is conveniently located to Gettyburg and Lancaster County. We would definitely camp here again.
